The Kraken King Part VI The Kraken King and the Crumbling Walls edition by Meljean Brook Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
This is the sixth part in the eight part serial novelization of The Kraken King. The Kraken King will be released as an entire book in August 2014. This was a wonderful addition to the novel but definitely the most romance heavy installment in this serial novel.Ariq and Zenobia have arrived at the Red City. Ariq is trying to talk to the embassy and get an audience with the Empress of Nippon in order to stop the marauders’ plans. Zenobia writes to her brother in hope of getting him and Yasmine to help.
Honestly about half of this novella is a very well done love scene between Ariq and Zenobia. It's a scene that's been a long time coming and was incredibly well written. Brook has always done an excellent job at balancing a very creative world with action, adventure, humor, and romance.
In this installment the story definitely took a back seat to the romance, but the story is still there and progress was made there was well. We finally get to explore more of the this living coral city called the Red City. We are also introduced to the numerous clockwork creatures called the Queen’s Eyes that have to be wound every day by the Queen’s demand.
I really do love Zenobia and Ariq’s relationship. They have a steamy relationship that is based on mutual respect. They accept and love each other faults and strengths. They are two incredibly interesting people to read about.
As I have mentioned in previous reviews of this book, I am not a huge fan of it being released in parts. It's just kind of an abrupt stop and start for me and throws me out of the story. However it is clever that Brook starts each novella with a letter from Zenobia to Archimedes (her brother). This gives the reader a little refresher about where the story left off in the last installment and is very helpful to the reader, while also being humorous and entertaining.
Overall this was an excellent installment of this series; I still love the characters and the world, they have been very entertaining and engaging. This was a very steamy and romance heavy novella, but the story wasn’t sacrificed either. I think fans of the series will love this installment just as much as I did! I can’t wait to read parts seven and eight.

The Kraken King Part VI The Kraken King and the Crumbling Walls edition by Meljean Brook Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
While I'm not a fan of the serial (very impatient), this series is fantastic. Meljean Brook's writing style is strong enough to keep my interest instead of frustrate like so many other serial writers do. Her stand alone novels and shorts are all multi layered, thoughtful and well edited. This entire series stays true to form. The hero and heroine grow throughout the series without becomming different people. There are no annoying time line mistakes - it flows. Truly a well written story.

What to say? This was the most amazingly beautiful part of the series so far. Oh myyy! The descriptions of the Red City are wonderful and Zenobia's character, well she is just an amazing character, inspiring to real women showing us to be practical and that courage comes whether you believe you have it or not.
And Ariq, well I could tell you but then your reward would be lessened when you read it. Can't say much more without giving away spoilers... so I will just say, if you are not reading this you have no idea on what you are missing.
*makes crazy eyes at everyone* Man, the buildup to this installment had the tension level ratcheted up into the red zone. Zenobia has agreed to get to know Ariq to see if they're compatible and their banter is ridiculously sweet. Meanwhile, the sexual tension side between the two of them has things ready to explode. In more ways than one.
AND IT IS GLORIOUS.
I adored Ariq's easy acceptance of so many of the quirks that make Zenobia Zenobia. He wants her to write because it makes her happy. He likes her strength and her quick mind. He cajoles her secrets out of her with his honesty. For her part, Zenobia sees the truth that she's built up walls around her heart and she's trying to let them down so she and Ariq have a chance together.
As much as I've moaned about having to wait for the next installment, I'm eyeballing the fact that there are only two left and I'm feeling the fear. WHAT WILL I DO WHEN IT'S OVER??? Iron Seas, I just can't quit you!

I fell in love with the characters, the imaginative scenery, the complicated steampunk world, the wonderfully exciting action, the intricate plots, and the great love sequences! Instead of reviewing each sequel separately, I would give them all 5 stars, as they all held my interest because of the pointers mentioned above. After reading Part I, I could not wait to read the next sequel. The characters hold true throughout each sequel, and Meljean Brook does a wonderful job in working in her character descriptions and personality through their actions and dialogue. Ms. Brook also does a magnificent job setting the scenes; I felt as though I was riding in the airships, seeing the giant krakens, walking through the streets of the different communities, traveling on the mechanical walking spiders across country, and watching the horrible boiler worms rise up from underground! Ariq, Zenobia, Archimedes, Captain Corsair, Helen, Mara, Cooper, and the host of other characters are completely unforgettable as they are "painted" so well by Ms. Brook. If the reader loves books that have the hero and heroine developing a strong love attachment with obstacles along the way, great action within each of the sequels, trying to figure out how our hero and heroine will get through, over or around the next threatening obstacle, and experiencing the amazing wonders and developments within this intriguing world, the reader cannot help but love reading this series. I highly recommend starting with Part I and reading through to Part VIII!
